Ben Weide is the designer and namesake of the Berlin fashion label Ben Weide, which has stood for a clear combination of architectural design, high-quality materials and responsible production since 2013.

All pieces in the edition are designed in Berlin. The standard has been the same from the very beginning: precise cuts, durable construction and fabrics with origin. Production takes place in selected European workshops at a high level of craftsmanship.

The materials come mainly from long-established weaving mills and specialist manufacturers within Europe. Zips from Thuringia, buttons from Baden-Württemberg, selected loden and wool qualities from established cloth makers – every detail is chosen deliberately. Quality does not happen by chance; it comes from origin, experience and care.

“My vision was a clothing line that combines my passion for exceptional fabrics with regional production, contemporary comfort and sustainability in practice,” says Ben Weide.

This gave rise to the concept of Outdoor2Business wear: garments that feel just as natural on the bike as they do in a meeting. Functionality is not added on, but built into the construction.

The fabrics are meant to protect and give structure – while having a feel you want to snuggle into. Comfort and presence are not mutually exclusive; they complement each other.

For Ben Weide, travel is an essential source of inspiration.

From the vibrant markets of the Middle East and the clean lines of urban architecture in New York to the cultural landscapes of Europe, he gathers impressions of light, structure and colour.

Colours are not created on a screen but from experience: the matt blue of the sea at dusk, the softened grey of a volcanic landscape, the warm earthy nuances of Mediterranean cities.

These observations flow into the editions subtly rather than illustratively. Every journey becomes a quiet reference – a story told in colour and material.

Back in Berlin, these impressions are translated into fabric and form.

In the atelier, Ben Weide works closely with cloth makers and workshops. Materials are tested, densified and combined. Patterns are adjusted, proportions refined, inner constructions optimised.

The current 2026/27 edition shows this development particularly clearly: clean lines, controlled volume, Mediterranean blues, warm taupe and textured wool qualities that support form and function alike.

“I love it when exceptional fabrics become incomparable pieces,” says Ben Weide.

The Limited Editions are exclusive series, often limited to 20 to 30 pieces. They are made from special wool qualities such as cashmere, fine merino fabrics or rare cloth variants of limited availability.

These pieces are aimed at customers who value substance, craftsmanship and individuality. They are sold and presented in deliberately selected settings – at curated design fairs, craft markets and selected premium events.

Here, exclusivity comes not from staging, but from material and limited numbers.

For Ben Weide, sustainability is not a marketing term but part of every design decision.

Durable fabrics, repairable workmanship and timeless design are at the heart of it. In addition, there are machine-washable jackets, linings made partly from renewable resources and recycled PET fibres. Some fabrics are GOTS-certified.

The aim is clear: quality has to last – aesthetically and materially.

The awards of recent years, including the German Design Award – Winner (2015) and the Green Product Award Selection (2016 & 2019), are seen as recognition of this consistent path.

The editions are regularly presented at curated exhibitions and design fairs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
